  • Champery is situated at the end of the Illiez valley and is a large picture-postcard village with beautiful chalets and interesting shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants along the main street. Mitchells is a favourite for apres-ski drinking and eating around the open fire as is the Café du Centre designed with flair and serving excellent local and Thai food. The Cantine des Rives, just out of town, is a must if you enjoy fondue and raclette. Live folkloric music adds to the atmosphere. The teleferique and newly installed 4-man chair at Grand Paradis take skiiers to Planachaux.and ski runs. A new sports complex has been built where there are tennis courts, indoor and outdoor, curling, ice skating rink and swimming pools. There is horse-riding in the village both in winter and summer. Snowboarding, ski schools and paragliding.
